Badeau Joan (nee Ryckman) (Flora): 1946- 2015
With much sadness and sorrow, Joan’s family announces her passing on April 3 2015. After a long and well fought battle against many health issues, Joan has left us to reunite with her beloved husband and best friend Paul who predeceased her in 2004. Joan was being cared for at her daughter Lisa’s home, and in her final days was comforted by her son Chad and Chris (son- in- law) and many family and friends. Lisa was with Joan, holding her hand, during her final moments.
Devoted mother of Sharon (Phil) Lisa (Chris) and Chad (Lisa). Cherished nana of Jami-Lyn, Timothy, Moriah, Jordan, Jake, Marion, William, Austin, Hunter, and Damien. Joan was a great- nana to Lily, Jaxon and newly born Lincoln.
Beloved sister of Pat (Benson), Judy (her twin), Barb, Mardie (Eric), Trena (Dave), Clifford (Darlene), Buck (Debbie), Carl (Tracey), Reg, Jeff (Kim). Dear sister-in-law of Roger, Martin, Joanne. She will be remembered by many special nieces and nephews and friends. Lifelong best friend of Bev Morgan and devoted friend of Traci Garlick.
Joan spent many happy years with Paul raising their family and travelling on their Harley. She was a very determined person and would not let fear or illness get in her way. Even while ill she was jumping off high diving boards, 4-wheeling, and going indoor skydiving with her son Chad. She was extremely generous, and made a difference in the lives of many. She will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stacie and colleagues at Hamilton General Hospital, the nurses in the ICU as well as the Step down Unit, especially Yurina who had a hand in bringing her back home where she wanted to be. A special thank you to the CCAC, St. Elizabeth Health Care and PSW’s who helped Joan and the family get through the last week. Extra special thanks to Charge Nurse Raman, Nurse Patricia and PSW Irene for their care and compassion for Joan and the family.

She came into this world a tiny little fighter, and left it exactly the same way…
