SHERWOOD, Katherine Michele “Kathy”
Passed away peacefully on Christmas Day 2016 at Wentworth Lodge, Dundas, in her 55th year. Predeceased by her loving parents Kathleen and Robert Sherwood. Beloved sister of Janet Chisholm (David), Chris Kitamura (Yoshio) and Richard Sherwood (Jane). Kathy was the cherished Aunt of Jennifer (David), Tina (Charles), Robert (Molly) and Jonathan (Laura). Kathy was a beloved cousin and great-aunt to many of the family. Kathy was an avid sports fan and participant for many years in local Special Olympic events. Kathy’s favourite teams were the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Maple Leafs, Bulldogs and the Blue Jays. She took great pride in her collection of memorabilia, posters, postcards and stuffed mascots. She would line up all of her team paraphernalia in front of the TV for all Leafs, Jays, Tiger-Cats and Bulldogs games.
Kathy was never without her camera at all family events; adding many photos to her album collection. Before retirement, she worked for several years at the Durand and Community Living in Hamilton. Kathy loved a family get-together with lots of dancing, playing instruments and great food. Her loving, caring and positive attitude touched everyone in our family. We love you Kathy and you will always be in our hearts. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff and friends at Wentworth Lodge for the special care, love and support they gave to Kathy and our family. Thanks to her special friends Dan Chartier, Claire Sweeney and Pat Thompson for their contributions to her happy life. In memory of Kathy, a donation to Community Living, Hamilton or Special Olympics would be greatly appreciated.
