<div itemprop="description">PAPADOPOULOS, VERA, May 9, 1936- June 2, 2016 <br> <br> <br> <br>It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Vera. Beloved and devoted wife of George for 53 years. Cherished and dearly loved mother of Katherine (Nickolas) and Philip (Anda). Very special and proud Grandma of Andrew, Evan, Anastasia and Michael, who were the loves of her life. Predeceased by her brother Chris Nick and her brother-in-law Sotos Papadopoulos. Survived by her loving sister Sharon, sister-in-law Tasia, and many nephews, nieces, relatives and close friends in Canada and in Greece. Vera was a proud Hamiltonian, proud Canadian and proud of her Greek heritage. She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. She served on the Board of Directors as Vice President and was a tireless volunteer in the Greek Community. She was a Charter member of the Daughters of Penelope (Women’s Auxiliary of the Order of AHEPA - American Hellenic Progressive Association) since 1959. A volunteer for the Hamilton Folk Arts Heritage Council since 1978, she served on the Board of Directors as Vice President and Treasurer, and as Program Director for It’s Your Festival at Gage Park. Vera was known for her warm heart, giving nature and vibrant personality. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed by her family, her relatives and her many friends. <br>lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church <br>or the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation.
